“I am an Uppie, played the Ba’ since I was 14. One particular memory was in the early, early days was when my father won his men’s Ba’ in 1976. My father is an Uppie, we are both Uppie’s. So the Ba’ went up, I was only seven years old at the time, and we stayed in a house on the Main Street at the time so I was with my mother and we saw the Ba’ going up so we went back to the house with myself and my sister and we were upstairs and then all of a sudden the door burst open and the ball was chucked up to the top of the stairs and we got a big fright as my dad’s friends were all on the stairs. That is a memory that sticks in my mind a lot.”
